Sometimes you have the same contact on two different lists and a universal unsubscribe just doesn’t work for you in this situation. By utilizing Display names, a subscriber will have the option to choose which list they want to opt out of.  Neat right?! You’ll find Display names in the “Add Things” area in Mad Mimi.

So here’s how to set them up…

Step 1. In your “Add Things” area, click the activate link:

Step 2. Click GO!

Step 3. Now you’re in the Display Names tool and it’s time to start adding your lists. Click the “Add” button:

Step 4. You first need to select the list you want to add. By selecting a list here, you’re activating it as one of the lists your subscribers can choose from when unsubscribing.It’s important to note that you can call your list one thing but have it “display” to your readers under a different name.

Step 5. Next it’s time to choose the “display name.” This is what the unsubscriber will see as the list name. Then hit save!

Step 6. Click “Add” again to add more lists.

You’ve done it! Now your subscribers that belong to multiple lists can pick and choose which lists to leave and which lists to remain active on.
